Guide Appointing a Proxy

If you cannot attend a general assembly or other vote, you have the option to delegate your vote to a proxy holder who can then vote on your behalf.

When you receive the email invitation to the assembly, accept it by clicking the link. This will take you to the assembly in GoVote.
You'll notice that the assembly administrator has not yet granted you access to the assembly.
If you aren't granted access immediately, please refer to the instructions at the bottom of this page.
If you wish to have someone else vote on your behalf, click the "Participation" link and select "Appoint Proxy" from the menu.

Appointing a Proxy

A selection window will open where you can search for your desired proxy holder. Search by name or enter their exact email address. Once you've found the person, click their name and complete the proxy appointment by clicking the "Appoint" button. You have now transferred your voting rights to another person who can vote on your behalf at the assembly. The proxy appointment takes effect from the start of the next vote.

Revoking a Proxy

To revoke a proxy appointment, simply open the selection window again and click "Revoke." The proxy holder will no longer be able to vote on your behalf. You can do this at any time during the assembly if you decide to vote yourself.

Acting as a Proxy Holder

If someone has appointed you as their proxy, you will be listed as a proxy holder and can vote on their behalf. If you cannot attend and wish to appoint someone else as your own proxy, you may do so following the process described above.
However, you cannot transfer the proxy rights others have given you - these will be automatically revoked if you appoint your own proxy holder. The original proxy givers will then need to appoint new proxy holders themselves.
